Speakers: Mr. Tyrone Willis is the former Command Master Chief of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Captain (Dr.) Patcho Santiago, MD, MPH is the Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion at the School of Medicine, Uniformed Services University (USU) in Bethesda, Maryland (and a Yale College graduate).
Mr. Willis and Dr. Santiago will be discussing the two main pathways to a career as a military physician, the Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) and the M.D. program at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Both pathways include tuition for medical school, as well as either a stipend (for HPSP) or a salary (for USU). Dr. Santiago can also answer questions about graduate medical education in the military, as well as applying to medical school in general.
