Hello, is the stipend guaranteed for all 5-6 years of enrollment? If so, is it provided by the university or reliant on the grants that the Pi has?
What is the difference between interdepartmental neuroscience program and BBS neuroscience track?
Can we apply to two programs at the same time?
How often do BBS students perform interdisciplinary research? Examples include working in two labs, and having a PI and a co-PI
I'm wondering if we could get a fee waiver. I was informed that we can get the waiver if we join the BBS webinar. Is it still the case?
how big is the incoming cohort usually?
Thank you so much!
In relation to the balance between studying and performing research, how much time do students typically spend in lab per week?
Do you recommend talking with the professors before the application, even if it’s an umbrella program?
Is there any one particular factor that makes a student stand out from the application pool?
Is the neuroscience program a good fit for students primarily interested in clinical and translational research? From reviewing the faculty, there appear to be many PIs involved in neuroimaging, which is of particular interest to me, as well as behavioral and systems neuroscience.
Is GRE score still important ?
How do we go about choosing labs for rotations? Do we choose before starting at Yale or do we choose while we're taking classes? And do when in the first year of PhD does it start?
Besides contact with faculty members and detailed descriptions of our research experiences, are there any other factors that may strengthen a personal statement?
What labs in the yale BBS program would you recommend for someone interested in genetic regulation or in optimizing genetic editing methodologies?
