Session Twelve: Racial Justice and the Drug War In this series, we invite activists who use drugs and harm reduction researchers to discuss drug policy reform, the deconstruction of the disease model of addiction, and alternative perspectives on drug use. In this session, Naraja Clay, Hiawatha Collins, David Herzberg, and Philomena Kebec will discuss the intersection between structural racism and the War on Drugs and how it has impacted their communities. This series is being hosted by the Substance Use Data Collaborative’s Policy working group alongside the UCLA Center for Social Medicine, Yale Program in Addiction Medicine, School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences Program D3S, National Survivors Union, and Drug Policy Alliance.
