Even before the coronavirus crisis struck, people in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) were protesting against injustice and inequality. The pandemic and the lockdown measures taken by governments have paralysed economies and threaten to tip millions of people into poverty, with women, refugees, migrant workers and those working in the informal economy among the worst affected.
Please join us on 30 September 2020 when we will explore how to reduce inequality in the Middle East.
Our panelists are:
Nabil Abdo, Senior Policy Advisor, MENA, Oxfam
Sally Abi Khalil, Country Director, Oxfam, in Lebanon (2020 Yale World Fellow)
Dr Charlotte Karam, Director of the Center of Inclusive Business and Leadership for Women, American University of Beirut
